Umiya Cedar Park
About This Spot
Stepping into Umiya Cedar Park feels like finding a quiet nook where tradition meets subtle creativity. The pace here is gentle—a place where the hum of conversation drifts alongside the precise rhythm of knives preparing sushi, inviting you to settle in and soak up the craftsmanship behind every plate.
The atmosphere strikes a balance between casual comfort and thoughtful detail. Soft lighting and warm wood tones create an inviting space where both regulars and newcomers can feel at ease. Whether you’ve come for a solo moment of calm or a gathering with friends and family, there’s a quiet attentiveness in the air that never feels rushed or overly formal.
The menu unfolds like a quietly curated journey across Japanese and Asian flavors, offering familiar comforts alongside rolls and dishes that surprise with their inventive touches. From the crunch of a tempura shrimp nestled within carefully wrapped rolls to the gentle heat of baked creations melting on the palate, each bite reflects care and attention. It’s clear that freshness and balance are key, making every plate feel thoughtfully composed rather than simply assembled.
Beyond the food, the human side of Umiya is woven into the experience. The staff moves with a natural warmth and attentiveness—they’re present without being intrusive, striking that rare harmony of helpfulness and discretion. It’s the kind of place where servers remember your preferences, smiles come easily, and the flow of the meal is relaxed yet considerate.
There’s something quietly satisfying about returning here, whether for the familiar comfort of a favorite roll or to explore something new from the menu. In this neighborhood spot, it’s not just about the sushi or the bibimbap, but about sharing moments—the clink of chopsticks, the exchange of stories, and the peaceful hum of an evening well spent.

AMAZING. We ordered sushi and Korean food and my Korean mother gave her seal of approval. Everything was so fresh, presentation was A+++, and Kristine was the sweetest and most attentive server, please ask for her. The sushi chef here is a really well known and experienced chef, and he is also incredibly kind. We will be back 100%.

It's a really nice place and is extremely reasonably priced especially for how much food you get and the quality. The staff is always quick to help or answer questions but they're not in your face so it's a nice place to get a break. I go there alone a lot of the time so that I can just get a good bite to eat and relax.

Outstanding meal and excellent service. I can't compliment them enough for an excellent mix of traditional sushi and creative roles. Our server was bright and attentive, food moved at a reasonable page. In particular, the salmon sashimi was top notch. As you'll see from the photo, presentation was elevated.

Ordered the hot stone bibimbap on a cold night but very intrigued by the sushi menu as they offer unique rolls. Generous portion of bulgogi and a good variety of vegetables. All vegetables lacked flavor, usually seasoned with at least salt or sesame oil but didn’t taste either. The dish relies on the gochujiang for flavor. The hot stone was sizzling for fairly long time, enough for you to mix and get the crisp rice bottom layer and the end. Quality ingredients just lacking flavor, will be back to try sushi! Loved the vibes of the restaurant and service was excellent.

First time tonight for a Birthday dinner. Everyone thought the rolls, dumplings, sashimi, fried rice were good! The employees were VERY NICE, kept up with our parties refills and clearing the table to make more room for other items. Would definitely go back. Our 3 year old grandson loved the chicken fried rice, pork dumplings and tempura fried kale.

First time going to this sushi place after getting a recommendation. The bluefin tuna was really good as well as the hand rolls and rolls I ordered. The inside of the restaurant was a bit interesting but the food quality made up for it. I will be going back again when the mood for sushi strikes.

This place has the best chicken fried rice I’ve ever had. Their plating is very pretty and attractive and the service was fast! The prices are very reasonable and overall I had an amazing first experience there. I will be coming back

My son and I love sushi. We have eaten it all over Austin, including some of the well known high end locations. We had a night to ourselves and decided to try a new place. WOW! We loved every bite! The presentations were remarkable and the sushi was impeccable. Melt in your mouth toro paired with other delicious cuts and an amazing roll. Our new favorite spot, and not far from home. The service was flawless. We will absolutely be back.
